Aloha~
I decided to go ahead with MMMM for November (this time hosted by Justine!) because it's fun getting these minis stitched up! Of course, that is if one has the time to sit down....
Such amazing progress, right? sigh It was a busy week again. Things should be winding down soon. I hope. My poor lazy bones need more lazy-ing than they have been getting lately!
But! Look! I finished a crochet thing! Remember this square?
I made a second one and attached the two together and made a little loopy thing. It's a little wonky but for a first larger project, I guess it's okay. The first side I attached I think I may have gotten overzealous with the stitches lol. I think there are twice as many in that side than the others, oops. :D I love the colors in it but they don't really match my kitchen so I know a Very Wonderful Mom who will probably receive this for Christmas. She was saying she wanted a larger one anyway! And it is quite large; the lamp it's displayed on is about 1.5-2 feet tall. And if for some reason this Mom is reading my blog, shoo! Don't look at the picture you've already looked at!
I also started a new project that will hopefully wind up being a scarf. It's a bit wide but I get cold easy so the larger the better, maybe...? I'm stitching it with Yarn Bee Soft Secret in navy and some mysterious white that I had in my stash. My goal is to make it match a pair of gloves I have... and I love matching things! Because I'm still a noob, using the Soft Secret instead of the regular worsted Red Heart is an adventure. It's so... slippery! And soft! I love to just fondle the skein ahaha.
And look what I found!! On my quest to obtain a rainbow of floss boxes, I stumbled upon this on eBay:
It was a little beat up but has the hinges instead of plastic flaps and came with that rather random assortment of floss. I'm not really sure what the two gold flosses are as they aren't numbered. Maybe some sort of Kreinik? So now I have blue, purple, pink and the ever-so-findable clear boxes. I can finally start winding the rest of my floss.
Well I can guarantee your stitchy fingers have been more productive than mine for the past week so uhhh here's to next week? :D

Hehe Rosey.....I always have a chuckle at your posts :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the crochet blocks! You were a lot smarter than me .....I decided that a blanket needed to be my first project....so I've been at it since about May! And still no end in sight!
Great find there! Especially as it came with threads too!
I have no doubt you will amaze us all in your next post with oodles of completed minis ☺️
Thank you :D I am actually afraid of doing the scarf so you're incredibly brave for starting a blanket! Although it's getting quite cold here so maybe making a blanket I can wrap myself in as I work on it would be great hah.
DeleteYou have way too much faith in my stitching speed LOL. I'll try though. :D
Great progress on your mini, much better than anything I have been managing. Love the pot holder, looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I guess even one little length of floss is acceptable in the long run. :D
DeleteWonderful pot holder! Good idea for the gift. =)
ReplyDeleteHope you find some lazy time this weekend!
Thank you, I hope she likes it! (Mom's like everything, right...?) I found a little bit of lazy time, mostly because I was so cold I wanted to be buried in warmth and not move most of the day!
DeleteHi Rosey
ReplyDeleteYour mini is looking great and I love the crochet too.
I've never soon coloured floss boxes before but love the purple.
Happy weekend.
Thank you~ :D I've seen colored boxes more when I was younger but they seem to have vanished from the world lately! Or possibly well-hidden in people's stashes hah.
DeleteGood progress on your mini! Your crochet potholder is nice. I liked the purple box.
ReplyDeleteThanks, it was a tiny amount of progress so I dunno about "good" but it happened haha. :D
DeleteHee, hee!!! Silly girl!
ReplyDeleteI aim to please! :D
DeleteAny progress is good progress on your minis! Your crochet adventures look great. Fun to swap hobbies for a change.
ReplyDeleteI agree although sometimes I wish it could be more than just a length lol! It's good to have options in hobbies. Perhaps this will help me with my mojo-less times; I'll have a different kind of project on backup!
DeleteYOU'RE CROCHETING! I'm so proud. *sniffle* It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI AM. SORT OF. THANKS! ...and picking out more than I am crocheting...... cough. Counting is hard. D:
DeleteLittle progress is still a progress :)
ReplyDeleteLove your purple box!! I have found a pink one... They look so sweet!
Great crochet finish :)
But such little progress! I had hoped for more than that... I am glad I'm not the only one after colorful boxes! It's fun to have them all. :D Thank you~~
DeleteYour pot holder looks brilliant. ohh! Pretty purple box. I saw the most amazingly wonderful thread box the other day! It was so organized and lovely....it was not mine! ;-) xox
ReplyDeleteNoooo, they can't be organized! Well, maybe by color lol. Thank you kindly. :D
