Testing 1, 2, 3...

Taking a techy plunge way late, I have acquired a smartphone to allow myself access to the outside world.  Apart from discovering I am part spider on that itty bitty keyboard, I think I may have figured out how to post from it.  Excitement!  Hence this lovely test post with... with... an image?!  Yes, yes an image!  A TUSAL image no less!  (Never you mind it's two months old... :B) I also figured out I could e-mail PDFs of patterns I created to my spiffy boyfriend and he could print them off at work! More excitement! I can get started on Final Fantasy ????!

I'll also take the opportunity to test-link to a couple of blogs that I find interesting~

1) Rensel Studio - So full of eyecandy! She does fabulous framing from stitchers all across the US (and beyond?) and I love seeing what she accomplished during the week!

2) cat vs human - Not stitching related but I think enough of y'all are cat lovers to appreciate the humor in her comics!

3) MrXStitch - Not for the faint of heart (or with online spending habits), this is a collection of odd, awesome, extreme stitch-related items discovered around the 'net. NSFW on Saturday.

Lovely floss with a lovely(?) backdrop featuring the ever loveable Calvin & Hobbes. This is February's TUSAL, not March's, not April's. March's is empty (I'll get the pic up eventually) because I dumped it out on the porch for the birds to pretty up their nests. :) Last year, I had a great photo-op with a tufted titmouse cheekily gathering up a huge beakful and looking like it had whiskers! Of course the camera wasn't charged. :D

Anyway, I think I am going blind typing on this...and I'm sorta cheating because I wanted to try posting while having Internet access for editing purposes. It seems the only way to add pictures is last unless one tweaks it online. Any tips would be hugely appreciated (I'm using the blogger app for droids). :D

Oh, and it's apparently IHSW! I look forward to seeing y'all's progress!

Christmas Moth, 終わりました!

I HAVE A PICTURE. One. I have no idea where the TUSAL pictures went. I remember taking them and then...???? Evaporated, apparently! I'll have to check on my mother's camera. But for now, on to the finish, woo!!

She is playing a fanfare of completion joy.

Isn't she lovely?!

Original pattern; find the differences!

I modified the pattern a little bit. I thought the extra robe on back was making her look a little awkward so I cut out a row of red/beads. That edit required me to adjust the arch width as well. I also extended the right side vines a tad. The two trailing lines weren't level in the original pattern and that bothered me. I think maybe I could've designed the vines a bit better (they look a little stiff), but I may or may not have been in the EEEEE, SO CLOSE TO FINISHING stage of excitement. ;)

AAA! I forgot her halo! LOL. Whoops, still not done. All aboard the Rosey FailBoat. Ahahah, just use your imagination and transpose the halo from the kit image onto mine, mkay?

Hragarglblagh!

Zombie Rosey rises up from the dust of nothingness and is hungry for braaaaaaaains...

Well, hello there, Internet world! I still have no Internet (fingers crossed for something reasonably soonish) so I am catching up as best I can from my mother's connection! It was quite a happy surprise that I've been nominated for a Liebster award! It's my first award and it gives me warm fuzzies like you can't even imagine; thanks so much, Reaper! :D

Here's a little bit about the award:

Liebster is a German word meaning favorite, dearest or beloved. The Liebster is awarded by bloggers to other new bloggers who have fewer than 200 followers, to help spread the word about their blogs and to help them gain wider recognition.

The Liebster award comes with four conditions that each recipient must satisfy when accepting.
  1. Choose 5 up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers to award the Liebster to.

  2. I had a difficult time finding those who haven't already been nominated and there are so many amazing stitchers out there...! I do apologize if you've been nominated before and/or didn't want to participate. I love all the blogs I follow even if I'm horrid at expressing it!

  3. Show your thanks to the blogger who gave you the award by linking back to them.

  4. In case you missed it before: THANK YOU REAPER YAAAAAAY :D

  5. Post the award on your blog. List the bloggers you are giving the award to with links to their sites. Leave comments on their blog so they know about the award.

  6. Adventures of a Crazy Cat Lady
    Anime Stitching
    Craftiness... Starrley's Stitchings
    Cross me not
    Lissanne's Stitching and Creations

  7. Share 5 random facts about yourself that people don't know about you.

① Oranges make me hyper. I could be completely mellow all day but give me an orange and I'll bounce off the walls.
② I read very, very quickly but miss quite a bit of the finer details. I've taken to reading books aloud... It's a good way to notice a LOT of plot holes, even among favorites, hahaha.
③ I cannot braid my own hair (but I'm learning!).
④ I'm convinced the only good part of an Oreo (Cookie. Not to be confused with Oreo my cat, haha) is the creme.
⑤ I love mowing the grass with a push mower instead of a riding mower, regardless of yard size.
I wish I could give you shiny pictures but I am a potato that forgot the camera on the one weekend of Internet access! I have a backlog of TUSAL (I'm still doing it because floss in jars is pretty and I like giving the birds pretty things for their nests~) and I finished the sparkly moth! Yes, yes, I did! I found sparkly floss (which I've never purchased before and wowzers, I didn't realize how much more expensive it would be!) and got that arch finished in about 2 hours of stitchy happiness. Quite a bit of those two hours involved puzzling over how to edit the arch to fit my changed angel and wondering why on earth the vines weren't even on both sides. I figured something out and now it will forever lurk in my pile of "finished-but-not-really-finished finishes" which is turning into a little mountain by now!

You are a brave and kind soul for reading this despite the lack of pictures! :D
